Su Hao

Professor SU has a B.A. in history and M.A. in international relations from Beijing Normal University and a Ph.D. in international relations from China Foreign Affairs University. He took advanced study at SOAS, University of London; and was a Fulbright scholar at Columbia University, and in the Institute of East Asia Studies of the University of California, Berkeley. He has held visiting professorships in Sweden, Australia, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and the USA. He was acting chairman of the Department of Diplomacy, director of China’s Foreign Relations Section, general secretary of the East Asian Studies Center, and director of the Center for Asia-Pacific Studies at China Foreign Affairs University. He is the president of the Beijing Geopolitical Strategy and Development Association, and a member or board member of several Chinese professional associations. His specialties are China’s foreign and security policy, strategic studies, international relations in the Asia-Pacific region, and East Asian integration.
