P4P signs Memorandum of Understanding with g7+ Secretariat
At the margins of Geneva Peace Week 2025, Principles for Peace (P4P) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Secretariat of the g7+, a group of 20 countries that have experienced conflict and fragility and, thus, bring hard-earned wisdom to global peace and security efforts.
The g7+ member states are: Afghanistan, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, CĆ“te d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Liberia, Papua New Guinea, SĆ£o TomĆ© and PrĆncipe, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Timor-Leste, Togo, and Yemen.
This partnership marks an important step toward more inclusive and legitimacy-centered peacebuilding, combining lived experience with P4Pās analytical tools and convening power to create practical solutions for the complex challenges of today.
The agreement sets out collaboration in four main areas: (1) producing research and decision-support tools that respond to g7+ priorities; (2) providing foresight and advisory services, including PeaceGame simulations to strengthen crisis response and mediation in g7+ countries; (3) creating opportunities for peer learning and South-South exchange; and (4) advancing advocacy to ensure that the voices of fragile states are heard in global policy debates.
By leveraging P4Pās Geneva presence and in-house infrastructures for peace, this collaboration aims to strengthen evidence-based decision-making and create spaces for inclusive dialogue. Together, P4P and the g7+ are shaping a new approach to multilateralism that is principled, inclusive, and grounded in realities from the front lines of conflict and fragility.
